Roots
As a person guided by a 12th house Scorpio Sun, liminal spaces have always somehow felt like home. I learn most deeply when experiencing the simultaneous tension and value of in-between times and places.
The contemplative gifts of the time in transit between point A and B.
The many, many moments of uncertainty in our lives, which by their very nature, require us to exercise our agency – to follow one path versus another. We find ourselves through each choice we make.
Or the space of anticipation. Whether experienced as excitement or nerves, it is always a space for creation. The building of expectations, ideals, hopes, dreams, plans – all within a container of unknowing. The perfect place to dream up the guideposts for your growth that will inevitably be tested, revised, and restructured when the later becomes the now.
It was during one of these particularly difficult in-between moments that astrology moved into sharp clarity, shifting its orbit from out of my peripheral vision.
My first professional astrological reading provided penetrating, genuine and deeply personal insight into the challenges I was facing.
It planted the seeds of new perspectives in my mind. As I processed what had been shared in the session, I noticed a shift: what I saw before as innate internal challenges began to transform into unique gifts.
For example, if I had a nickel for every time I heard some version of the above quote – “you have control over your response” – I wouldn’t be rich, given the rate of inflation, BUT, I could make a pretty solid maraca by now. Chhcah Chh Chhcah Chh Chhcahchhhh.
I feel all the things. And for a long time, I thought it was my job to carry those feelings, many of which weren’t meant for me to hold. Over time, it got heavy.
I came across the above quote a few years after learning from astrology that the planet Mars is deeply intertwined with many aspects of my chart. While an array of Mars-connected placements can manifest in a million ways – one sure fire take-away is that Mars energy is QUITE accessible to me.
While Frankl’s quote says essentially the same thing that I had heard so many times before – this time it clicked. Something new occurred to me, because now I had the language and foundational understanding to see it from a new perspective.
Yes, there is a space between stimulus and response. But the space is experienced differently for each of us. For some, the space is quiet, calm and lengthy. Or it may feel hard to move through, like fog or boots in the mud. For others, it is lightning fast. ZAP. In and out without even stopping to smell the roses.
What freedom I felt in that realization.
With the symbolic vocabulary of astrology, I now understood why the advice never sank in.
I never even acknowledged the space between the stimulus and response, because I had truly never spent time there. That wasn’t a conscious choice. It was a pattern I had developed, based on my unique experience of the world. I felt it as fast and furious. Uncontrollable and overwhelming, at times. But now I saw that there was potential to instead experience it as powerful and perceptive.
What had always felt like rust was turning into gold.
This is just one of the many treasures that astrology has gifted me. Through several years of self-study and the pursuit of a Professional Astrologer Diploma Certification, I dug into my own chart by developing a bird’s eye view of my patterns, purpose and place in the world. I saw chances to shift my perception everywhere I looked – so much that used to feel stuck now felt movable.
I now had the point of view, vocabulary and the tools to begin weaving new patterns that aligned more with what felt authentic and true for me.
Vision
My childhood nickname “Little Miss Chatterbox” still holds some truth.
As a person with a Sagitarrius Ascendant and a natal disseminating Moon, I am driven to share what I learn. I would go so far as to say I need and love to share what I learn. It’s an integral part of what makes me, me.
After living such a personally transformative experience through the language of astrology, I knew that offering this to others was a joy I needed to pursue.
And so comes the launch of Threshold Astrology.
It is founded on the beliefs that:
Each person is a co-creative force within the cosmos. While we each have unique potential, we are not tied to a singular fate.
No matter who you are, or what age or stage in life you find yourself, there is always an opportunity to take a step into deeper self awareness.
Every new moment offers a threshold for you to cross. Some are more obvious or urgent than others – a graduation, a wedding, a birth, a diagnosis. In these moments, our choice is how to step through them.
But there are far more subtle thresholds that we also must navigate.
The nagging feeling that it might be time to rethink a past choice — a job, a relationship, a living situation — that no longer feels “right”.
The desire for change that percolates as you finally recognize that you keep repeating the same mistake.
Or even the literal getting up & out the door in the morning can feel like crossing an Olympic finish line in some moments of life (I’m looking at you, parents of young kids!).
Astrology offers insight into all of these moments. By increasing your self-awareness, you can navigate the big and the small moments in life with greater clarity, courage and compassion.

Homage to the Onion
The logo emerged in our work with the brilliant designer at House of Youse. The Onion became a symbol of all that Threshold Astrology offers.
Onions are a bit of a wonder. Somehow contained within the same object is the power to bring us to tears and to make us salivate. Both biological responses, not within our conscious control.
What magic that humans ever even decided to eat them at all.
They hide. First growing deep in the earth below the soil and then through the many layers that protect the tender heart within. They even fight back when attacked, releasing their powerful scent – quite literally obscuring the vision of their opponent!
But once they are put through the fire, they reveal their hidden gifts.
Each of us is many-layered. As we grow, we (consciously and unconsciously) learn to protect our hearts, our inner selves. But we are inevitably put through the fire of our life experiences – some more challenging than others. Every layer and part of our being holds purpose. And every experience we live through can be part of our transformation.
